Apple is gearing up for its biggest launch of the year with the iPhone 11 (or iPhone XI) series. Scheduled to be unveiled in September, the 2019 iPhones will stick to the iPhone X design language but will bring in a few significant internal upgrades. This year, we will get three iPhones with two main flagships at different sizes while the third one is an affordable one, acting as successors to the iPhone XS, XS Max and the XR.
External changes will be limited to an additional camera on all three models and are expected to be an ultrawide shooter with a much larger field of view. The two flagships will retain the 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The other cameras are supposed to be similar to the predecessors with a 12-megapixel primary sensor.
Earlier rumours suggested that Apple will finally move to a USB Type-C connector for data and charging, but that has been shut down and we will have to wait for one more year with the Lightning connector. The new iPhones will also include a new “Leap haptics” engine for improved tactical feedback and vibrations and should be sprinkled across the user interface.
On the inside, all of them will be upgraded Apple’s latest A13 chipset, extending their processing prowess lead over Android. These processors could bring better photo and video capabilities, smoother gaming experiences. 5G capabilities will be notably absent, and will debut on the 2020 iPhones.
The three phones will retain the same displays, with the higher-end iPhones sporting an OLED display at 5.8-inches and 6.5-inches, and the affordable one getting a 6.1-inch LCD panel. The front camera could also get a megapixel bump with better video recording capabilities.
iPhone 11 Expected Price in India
Apple has just recently begun manufacturing the higher-end iPhones in India, bringing the prices down significantly. It’s uncertain as of now if these new iPhones will be assembled at their partner facilities in India. If not, the prices will be about 20% higher than the global pricing, easily putting them in the above INR 1 lakh segment.
The iPhone Xs successor is expected to be priced at around INR 95k and about 10k more for the Max variant. The cheaper iPhone could start at around INR 70k.
